Harry Demary
Demary served as the Head Coach of Plattsburgh Post 20 from 1967 through 1981. Demary guided Post 20 to the 1969 New York State Championship and to seven District IV titles.
Robert Garrow
Garrow served as an assistant coach with the Post 20 program from 1967 through the 1980 season. Garrow also served as a professional scout for the Kansas City A's.
Gary Butler
Butler served as an assistant coach with the Post 20 program from 1967 through 1980 and then served as an assistant coach with the Clinton County Mariners in 2006. Butler also worked as a professional scout for the Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Mets and Montreal Expos.
Joe Staves
Staves was a standout performer on Post 20 teams during the summers of 1967, 1968 and 1969. After playing legion baseball, Staves continued his career as a member of the Cortland State baseball team.
Tim O’Connell
O'Connell was a key player on Post 20 teams during the summers of 1968, 1969 and 1970. After playing legion baseball, O'Connell continued his baseball career at Plattsburgh State.
Mike St. Louis
St. Louis is arguably the best left-handed pitcher ever produced in the North Country. St. Louis pitched for Post 20 during the summers of 1969 and 1970. St. Louis continued his career at Syracuse University for two seasons and finished at Ithaca College. St. Louis was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 18th round in 1973, the Montreal Expos in the 1st round of the January 1974 secondary draft; and by the Chicago White Sox in the 2nd round of the June 1974 secondary draft.
Harold 'Pip' LaFontaine
LaFontaine was a standout performer on the 1969 Post 20 team. Lafontaine continued his career as a baseball player at Syracuse University.
Bill Durnin
Durnin was an assistant coach with Post 20 from 1993 through 1998. During his time, Post 20 captured three District IV titles and finished runner-up at the 1996 New York State Tournament.
Tim McDonough
McDonough was a standout performer on Post 20 teams during the summers of 1969, 1970 and 1971. McDonough continued his baseball career at Dartmouth University.
Jim Shutts
Shutts served as the Head Coach of Plattsburgh Post 20 from 1993 through 1998. Shutts guided Post 20 to District IV titles three times and to a runner-up finish at the 1996 New York State Championship.
Wally Vanderhoff
A standout performer on Post 20 teams during the summers of 1973 and 1974, Vanderhoof served as an assistant coach with Harry Demary in 1980 and then as Post 20 Head Coach from 1981 through 1989. Vanderhoff guided Post 20 to District IV titles in 1985 & 1989, with the 1989 team reaching the New York State Final Four.
Larry Carpenter
Carpenter was a standout performer on Plattsburgh Post 20 teams during the summers of 1967, 1968 and 1969. Carpenter continued his baseball career at Plattsburgh State where he has also been inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Randy Senecal
Senecal was a standout performer on Plattsburgh Post 20 teams during the summers of 1968, 1969 and 1970. Senecal was a standout basketball player at Clinton Community College.
John Flynn
Flynn was a standout performer on Plattsburgh Post 20 teams during the summers of 1978, 1979 and 1980. Flynn continued his baseball career at the University of Central Florida. Flynn also served as the Head Coach of the Clinton County Mariners during the summers of 2008 through 2012.
Mike Flynn
Flynn was a standout performer for Plattsburgh Post 20 during the summers of 1967 and 1968. Flynn continued his career at Springfield College.
John Hart
Hart was a standout performer on Plattsburgh Post 20 teams during the summers of 1969, 1970 and 1971.
John Rock
Rock was a standout performer on Plattsburgh Post 20 teams during the summers of 1967 and 1968.
Mike Rock
Rock was a top performer for Plattsburgh Post 20 during the summer of 1967.
Gerald Burdo
Burdo was a long-time support of American Legion baseball in Clinton County and served as an assistant coach with Plattsburgh Post 20 during the 1999 season.
Jeff Doorey
Doorey was a standout performer for Plattsburgh Post 20 during the 1980 and 1981 seasons. Doorey continued his career at Baldwin-Wallace College and was later drafted by the Montreal Expos.
John Ireland
Ireland was a key performer on Plattsburgh Post 20 teams during the summers of 1968 and 1969.
Paul O’Connell
O'Connell was a standout performer for Plattsburgh Post 20 teams during the summers of 1970 through 1973. O'Connell played college football at Plattsburgh State.
Dick Denny
Denny was a standout performer for Plattsburgh Post 20 during the summers of 1968, 1969 and 1970.
Dale Meron
Meron was a standout performer for Plattsburgh Post 20 teams during the summers of 1969 and 1970.
Jack Daly
Daly was a standout performer on Plattsburgh Post 20 teams during the summers of 1979 and 1980. Daly played college football and baseball at Dartmouth. Daly was drafted by the Memphis Showboats of the USFL. Daly signed with the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL.
Chris King
King was a standout performer on Plattsburgh Post 20 teams during the summers of 1983, 1984 and 1985. King continued his baseball career at LeMoyne College.
Stephen Peryea
Peryea was a standout performer for Plattsburgh Post 20 during the summers of 1990 and 1991.
Peter Proctor
Proctor was a standout performer for Post 20 from 1973 through 1976. Proctor played college baseball at Indiana State (1977), Palomar Junior College (1978) and UC-Northridge (1979-80).
John Zerrahn
Zerrahn was a four-year performer for Post 20 from 1970 through 1973. Zerrahn played collegiate at SUNY Plattsburgh.
Matt Sames
Sames played for Post 20 during the summers of 1984, 1985 & 1986. Sames played collegiately at LeMoyne.
Tom Neale
Neale was a standout performer for Post 20 from 1985 through 1987. Neale played collegiately at the College of Saint Rose.
1969 Post 20 Team
The only team in the history of Clinton County American Legion baseball to capture the New York State Championship. The 1969 team finished the season with a 22-4 record. Head Coach Harry Demary and assistant coaches Gary Butler and Bob Garrow led the squad throughout the summer.
Todd Wilkinson
Wilkinson was a four-year performer for Post 20 (1977-80). Post 20 captured the District IV title in 1980. Wilkinson continued his career at the University of North Carolina (1981-84) where he established an Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) record with three home runs in a game during the ACC Tournament. Wilkinson was drafted by the Montreal Expos following his time at UNC.
Rob Calkins
A rare five-year player for Post 20, Calkins was a member of the program from 1980 through 1984.
Doug Kimbler
Kimbler was a standout performer for Post 20 during the summers of 1985 through 1987. Post 20 captured the District IV title in 1985. Kimbler played collegiately at the College of Saint Rose. Kimbler was drafted by the Detroit Tigers following his time at St. Rose.
Jason Miller
Miller was a standout for Post 20 from 1987 through 1989. Post 20 captured the District IV title in 1989. Following his senior year at Plattsburgh, Miller was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays, but did not sign. After a standout career at the College of Saint Rose, Miller was drafted by the Texas Rangers.
Gus Terry
Terry was a standout performer for Post 20 from 1994 through 1996. Post 20 captured the District IV championship in 1995 and 1996. Terry played collegiately at the College of Saint Rose and then professionally in Spain.
Russ Keller
Keller was a standout performer for Post 20 from 1971 through 1973. Post 20 captured the District IV title in 1971. Keller played collegiately at LeMoyne College (1974-77) and signed as a free-agent with the Houston Astros.
Mark Boule
Boule starred for Post 20 from 1987 through 1989. Boule played collegiate baseball at the University of Rochester from 1989 through 1992.
Neil Stevens
Stevens was a standout performer for Post 20 during the summers of 1989 & 1990 and played the beginning of the 1991 season before signing with the Minnesota Twins. Post 20 captured District IV titles in 1989 and 1990.
Brian Mehan
Mehan was a standout performer for the Clinton County Mariners from 2003 through 2006. The Mariners captured District IV titles in 2003 and 2004. Mehan played collegiately at Plattsburgh State.
Kris Doorey
Doorey was a standout performer for Post 20 during the summers of 1990 and 1991. Post 20 captured the District IV title in 1990. Doorey continued his baseball career at Clinton Community College and the University of Stony Brook.
Bob Way
Way was instrumental with the building of Veterans Park at Post 1619 and is a member of the Baseball Committee.
Scott Baker
Baker played for Post 20 during the 1981 season. Baker continued his collegiate career at Hudson Valley Community College where he pitched in the NJCAA World Series.
Peter Ewald
Ewald was a standout for Post 20 during the summers of 1981 through 1983. Ewald stole 25 bases without being thrown out in 1983. Ewald played college football at Syracuse University (1983-86) and signed as a non-drafted free-agent with the Buffalo Bills.
Todd LaValley
LaValley starred for Post 20 during the 1987 and 1988 seasons. LaValley played his college baseball at LeMoyne where he led the nation in earned run average (0.98 in 1991). LaValley was signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Warren Horner
Horner was a standout during three summers for Post 20 (1988-89 & 1991). The team captured the District IV title in 1989. Horner played collegiately at the College of Saint Rose and then was an all-star for the Portsmouth Explorers of the independent Frontier League.
Chris Pageau
Pageau was a standout performer for Post 20 from 1988 to 1990. The team captured the District IV title in 1989 and 1990. Pageau played collegiately at Schenectady Community College (1991) and the University of South Carolina-Aiken (1992-94). Pageau was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 1991 but did not sign.
Ron Poland
Poland was instrumental in building Veterans Park at Post 1619 during his time as the Commander of West Plattsburgh American Legion Post 1619.
John Burke
Burke was the Business Manager of the West Plattsburgh American Legion and an important contributor to the construction of Veterans Park at Post 1619.
Henry LaFountain
LaFountain was heavily involved with the construction of Veterans Park at Post 1619.
Paul LaRock
LaRock was a standout pitcher for Post 20 during the summers of 1982 and 1983. LaRock was the Most Outstanding Pitcher in 1983. LaRock played collegiately at St. Lawrence University.
Tracy Rotz
Rotz was a standout performer for Post 20 during the summers of 1984 & 1985. The 1985 team captured the District IV title. Rotz was the Pitcher of the Year in 1984 and Most Dedicated Player in 1985.
John Munson
Munson was a standout performer for Post 20 during the 1985 & 1986 summers. Munson was the Most Outstanding Pitcher in 1985.
Rob Knowles
Knowles served as the Head Coach of the Clinton County Mariners from 1999 through 2005. Knowles compiled a 195-85-2 record and guided the team to District IV titles in 2000, 2001, 2003 and 2004.
Lester Fessette
Fessette was a member of the E.S. Mason team that represented Plattsburgh, the Clinton County Champions, in the 1948 New York State Championship. Fessette signed with the Brooklyn Dodgers organization.
Hummer Rock
Rock was instrumental in the Clinton County Mariners becoming sponsored by West Plattsburgh American Legion Post 1619 and an important fundraiser for the program.
Jamie Labarge
A three-year performer of Post 20 during the summers of 1986 through 1988. Labarge was the team Most Valuable Player in 1988. He went on to play collegiately at the College of Saint Rose.
Frank Buksa Sr.
Buska was a two-season member of Post 20 (1984-85). He was chosen as the Most Outstanding Player in 1985 when Post 20 captured the District IV title.
Kris Barcomb
Barcomb played three seasons of legion baseball for Post 20 (1993-95). Post 20 won the District IV title in 1995. Barcomb played at Clarkson College from 1996 through 1998.
Scott Shutts
Shutts played three seasons of Post 20 baseball (1993-95). The team captured the 1995 District IV title. Shutts played his collegiate baseball at Barton College.
Don Tolosky
A standout at Lyon Mountain High School, Tolosky was a member of the 1948 & 1949 E.S. Mason teams that represented Plattsburgh and won the Clinton County American Legion Championship. Tolosky signed with the Chicago White Sox and pitched two seasons in the minor leagues.
Ron Chase
Chase umpired in the North Country for over 30 years. A former standout at Lyon Mountain High School and with the Lyon Mountain Miners.
